What is Joshua's Law?
Senate Bill 226 also known as "Joshua's Law" requires students between the age of 16-17 years old to do the following to get a Georgia Driver's License:
- Apply for a Class D License
- Complete an approved 30-hour classroom/online driver's education course with a certified driver training school
Students can also begin their Joshua's Law requirements at 15 years old. If a student is 18 years old or older, a Drivers Ed course isn't mandatory. However, a Drivers Ed course is still recommended to enhance their knowledge of basic driving requirements and safety/defensive driving requirements on the road.
Drivers Ed 360 provides Georgia DDS-Approved Driver's Ed Online courses. Our Joshua's Law online course meets the same requirements as the classroom version of the course.
